This catalogue features full-color illustrations of works by the artist, with an essay by Susan Bielstein.
Patrick Chamberlain (b. 1955, Canada) employs a mixture of philosophy and formalism in his work. His visual language includes references to geometric and lyrical abstraction, as well as figurative and conceptual elements. The blend of content causes the work to fluctuate between perceptions of chaos and harmony. Chamberlain embraces what he considers to be a multitudinous painter’s personality, fluidly moving between a number of different styles and techniques. In this multiplicity, drama is personified and mysteries are formed.
