Since 1992, Dia has presented the Robert Lehman Lectures on Contemporary Art. Edited by Lynne Cooke and Karen Kelly, together with Bettina Funcke, this second volume in the series collects theoretical and critical essays by a multidisciplinary group of lecturers, focused on the exhibitions mounted at Dia from 1995 through 1998 by internationally recognized artists. Together, the essays in this book present a broad-based account of contemporary artistic practice, criticism, scholarship, and theory.

It features artists Alighiero Boetti, Andy Warhol, Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, Jessica Stockholder, Juan Muñoz, Hanne Darboven, Fred Sandback, Dan Flavin, and Richard Serra in texts by Sarat Maharaj, Dave Hickey, Robert Farris Thompson, Beatriz Colomina, Marina Warner, Michael Newman, Mark Taylor, Michael Govan, and David Sylvester.

Published by Dia Art Foundation, 2004, softcover, 220 pages, 8 x 5.25 inches.
