Angel Otero (b. 1981) is best known for his process-based paintings and deconstructive porcelain and steel sculpture. While early works have been influenced by memories based on his early life in his native Puerto Rico, referencing photographs and other family memorabilia combined with the gestures of 20th century painting, his recent works highlight artistic material and its physicality.

This catalogue features full-color illustrations of works and exhibitions by the artist, with essays by Elysia Borowy-Reeder, Jose Lerma, and Christian Viveros-Fauné.

Published by Kavi Gupta and the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh, 2012, softcover, 88 pages, 10 x 7 inches.
