Scott Treleaven: Some Boys Wander By Mistake was co-published on the occasion of three exhibitions held in 2006 and 2007 at Kavi Gupta Gallery, John Connelly Presents, and Marc Selwyn Fine Art. The catalogue features color and black and white images of Treleaven's drawings, collages, prints, photos, and installations, as well as a conversation with artist Jack Pierson, an essay by Terence Hannum of Unlucky Atlas, and five new poems by Dennis Cooper based on the work.

Treleaven, who has been called, affectionately, an obdurate misfit, produces mixed-media paintings, drawings, collages, and sculptures, takes photographs with a 35mm camera, and shoots evocative films with a Super 8 camera—exploring, through all of his work, the experience of marginalization and the communities that develop outside of mainstream culture. His own experience as a gay man informs his practice. Ranging from abstract to representational, his work often features sexually charged, semi-nude young men and references to paganism, polytheism, and punk rock. Treleaven both critiques and embraces these so-called outsider communities, foregrounding what he sees as their allure and romance, and daring viewers to see it, too.
